Sents curiositat per la cultura xinesa i t’agradaria viure per uns moments una de les seves celebracions més significatives? El dia 12 de febrer es celebrarà l’any nou xinés a la Plaça Cívica de la UAB a càrrec de Ramen Club i l’Associació d’Estudiants Xinesos. 
L’any nou xinés, o també denominat la Festa de la Primavera, es celebra sempre entre finals de gener i principis de febrer. A diferència de nosaltres, que utilitzem el calendari gregorià, ells segueixen el calendari tradicional xinés, que es basa en la combinació de cicles lunars i solars. És per aquest motiu que no tenen establert un dia exacte, sinó que cada any celebren l’inici de l’any següent en un dia diferent. Aquest any celebren l’entrada del 2019 el dia 5 de febrer i, segons la tradició xinesa, l’any 2019 serà l’any del porc, un animal associat a l’abundància, la prosperitat i la salut. Existeix la creença que els nadons que neixin durant l’any del porc seran feliços i honrats.
A la UAB, tot i no ser el mateix dia, també hem volgut celebrar aquest inici d’any. El Col·lectiu d’Estudiants Xinesos i el Ramen Club, han organitzat de la millor manera possible un any nou xinés ple d’activitats tradicionals i menjars típics.
La celebració tindrà lloc el dia 12 de febrer a la Plaça Cívica de la UAB i començarà a les 13.00 h. Des de l’inici fins a les 16.00 h hi haurà muntada una fira a la Plaça Cívica on es realitzarà un dinar popular tradicional xinés, hi haurà paradetes amb menjars típics, un arbre dels desitjos, una ruleta del zodíac xinés i molt més. D’altra banda, també hi haurà una Classe de Tai-txi a les 15.00 h i la Dansa del Drac a les 16.00 h, una dansa molt típica d’aquesta celebració.

Are you curious about the Chinese culture and would like to experience their most important celebrations? UAB will celebrate Chinese New Year on 12 February in Plaça Cívica thanks to student societies Ramen Club and Associació d’Estudiants Xinesos.
Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival, always takes place between end of January and beginning of February. They follow their traditional calendar based on lunar and solar cycles, unlike our Gregorian one. For this reason Chinese New Year is always celebrated on different days every year because there is never an exact established day. This year, the beginning of 2019 will be celebrated on 5 February. According to Chinese tradition, 2019 will be the Year of the Pig, an animal associated with abundance, prosperity and health. There is the belief that babies born during the Year of the Pig will be happy and honourable.
UAB also wishes to celebrate the beginning of this year. Student society Col·lectiu d’Estudiants Xinesos and Ramen Club did their best in organising a thrilling Chinese New Year full of traditional activities and typical dishes.
The celebration will take place on 12 February in Plaça Cívica and will go on from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. There you will find a fair with a traditional Chinese lunch, stalls with typical food, a wish tree, a Chinese zodiac roulette and much more. On the other hand, there will also be a Tai chi workshop at 3 p.m. and the Dragon dance at 4 p.m., a typical dance of this celebration.
